Meet our fearless leader, Miriam!

Meet Empty Frames board member and founder, Miriam Cobb! The Lord brought the dream of Empty Frames to Miriam in an incredible way. After years of having orphan care and adoption on her heart, Miriam went on a missions trip to Latvia in 2014. The Lord used this time to grow her in her faith and ability to lead. Shortly after, she attended a conference called 21 Project where she was in classes with young entrepreneurs who were pursuing Christ in the industry. God gave Miriam the vision to use old buildings to create facilities where orphans and kids who have aged out of foster care can find shelter, food, learn important life skills, and also learn about the love of their heavenly Father. After the conference the Lord began to open doors and Empty Frames Initiative was launched.

Empty Frames takes up most of Miriam's time now and she considers it her full-time job.

"This period has taught me a lot about faith and I know from here on out trusting and trying to pursue Christ with my whole heart is the norm."

Miriam's favorite book is Choosing To SEE by Mary Beth Chapman. As far as movies, she loves anything Disney, particularly Beauty & The Beast and Mulan. A Knight's Tale is another favorite of hers. Miriam has had many opportunities to travel and actually lived in 6 countries during 2014! Miriam can't leave home (or even her room) without her phone.

Miriam has one hope for the future of Empty Frames; to see the Lord lead the church closer to His heart. She states that caring for the widowed and fatherless goes far beyond what we normally think. We're all broken and we live in a broken world in need of a Savior and now is all the time we have. She prays and believes that the Lord can cause an awakening in the church through this project. Following the Lord looks different in every individual, but as a church our calling is to love the broken and lead them to their Father's heart.

Two verses that have been brought to Miriam's attention over and over again are Ezekiel 33:11 and Ezekiel 34:16.

Ezekiel 33:11 "Say to them: 'As I live', says the Lord GOD, 'I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but that the wicked turn from his way and live. Turn, turn from your evil ways! For why should you die, O house of Israel?"

Ezekiel 34:16 "I will seek what was lost and bring back what was driven away, bind up the broken and strengthen what was sick; but I will destroy the fat and the strong, and feed them in judgment."
