10 Years Wrapped

2025
How to wrap up a year like 2025?
2025 was beautiful and excessively hard in certain moments. We continued to work with clients across the United States, taught where we could, shared our books and podcast, and celebrated 10 years of meaningful relationships in November! But.. the final notable moment of 2025 was when the building we’d been working towards - the building we’d filmed in and negotiated contracts around, that building in Waco, TX - it got torn down.
“What was the lesson?” Someone asked me when I explained that the building in the video we released had just been demolished.
And I looked at her. And I let the question roll around in my mind. And I gave something offhandedly flippant with a tinge of faith tucked into it (I think I said, “the lesson of that mess was for someone else. Things falling through is not a new lesson in my own life.”).
Truthfully, 2025 was a year where I really paused and apologized to the people in the Bible whose stories I hadn’t understood. Sarah, dear Sarah, who I always just considered to be unfaithful… was tired. Was real. Was 90 years old and without children. The promise of the Lord was there, but she had not achieved it, nor could she ever hope to achieve it by human means. She was waiting in human ways - life keeps going as you wait for a promise, and you can’t ignore life while you wait.
Sometimes you’re Naomi and you’ve lost everything. Sometimes you’re Joseph in the well, in the prison, in Egypt. Sometimes you’re Joshua and Caleb, telling everyone that hope is just around the corner if they are willing to go and seize it, but instead you’re stuck in the desert waiting for the redeeming season.
These people weren’t faithless - they were just citizens in a broken world working their way home. God is still faithful, even in seasons where we’re looking at emptiness. A lack of specific provision is not always going to be “an answer”, a lesson, or a redirection - sometimes it truly is just waiting and bearing witness to God working in silence.
I believe God has invited all of us to care for the orphaned, widowed, and displaced - because scripture affirms that calling over and over AND our God is the same yesterday, today, and forever. Because of this, we keep going! And we’ll edit the video to reflect that the vision continues even as a new building needs to be chosen.
The positives of 2025:
We made this beautiful video with the help of our friends, Khalila, Doug, and Cory.
We celebrated 10 years of community and relationships!

We’re ready for new partnerships with our outreach boxes!

And we’re excited for 2026!
I’ll keep you posted friends.
